Before the course, there are some important preparations to keep in mind. Please take note of the following information (also stated in the training agreement, clause 23) before booking your plane tickets and accommodation.
- To enroll in the training, participants should possess strong English language skills and relevant aviation experience.
- Magnetic Training reserves the right to cancel the course in case of force majeure or the unavailability of the lecturer(s).
- Magnetic Training may cancel the course if the respective aircraft type is not available for practical training.
- Magnetic Training may cancel the course if the minimum number of participants (minimum of 10 trainees) is not reached until two days prior to the training.
To participate in the practical course on-site (whether in Tallinn, Estonia or another location), trainees need to bring the following (unless informed otherwise):
- Passport/ID Document: To gain access to the airside area.
- Laptop/Tablet: All training materials are provided electronically (separate email), so please bring your own device. You will also receive a paper logbook.
- High Visibility Vests/Jackets: These are required for practical work in the hangar.
There are three options to reach Tallinn, Estonia:
By Plane:
Find a suitable flight connection from your destination and travel by plane directly to Tallinn.
Via Helsinki, Finland:
If there are more options for direct flights to Helsinki, Finland, you can take a boat from there to Tallinn. There are frequent connections every 2 hours, and the boat trip takes approximately 2-3 hours. For more information, refer to the tips provided at this link.
Via Riga, Latvia:
Another option is to fly to Riga, Latvia, where there are also several direct flight options. From Riga airport, you can take a bus to Tallinn. Buses operate hourly, and the journey takes about 4 hours. Find additional tips at this link.
Location of the Magnetic Training Center:
The Magnetic Training Center is situated at the corner of Pallasti 2 and Tartu mnt 87d street. Access to the center is from Pallasti street, on the second floor of the building.
Location of Maintenance Facility for Practical Training:
Magnetic Group has four maintenance facilities near Tallinn Airport where practical tasks can be conducted. The main building is located at Väike-Sõjamäe 1a, Tallinn. Access to the facilities is through either Gate 1 (Sepise 2a, Tallinn) or Gate 2 (Väike-Sõjamäe 2, Tallinn), which will be communicated to trainees before their practical day.
Accommodation in Tallinn:
Magnetic Training has a partnership with Ibis Tallinn Center Hotel, which is conveniently located near the Magnetic Training Center and the airport. Upon receipt of payment, the promotion code for the hotel offer will be shared with the client. For longer stays, renting a flat through Airbnb or Booking would be a recommended option.
Transportation in Tallinn:
The training center (Tartu mnt 87d or Pallasti 2, 2nd floor), where exams and classroom activities take place, is a bit further from the airport (approximately 2 km). Practical training on the aircraft occurs at the airport. Therefore, every trainee must arrange their commute between the airport and the training center.
Public Transport:
Tallinn has a compact and easily accessible public transport system, including buses, trolleys, and trams. Please visit this link for map and timetable. Training fees can be found on the respective course page of our website. The prices displayed do not include value-added tax (VAT), which usually amounts to 22% and will be added to the fee presented on the website. Usually, theoretical part of type training courses is conducted online from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 4 pm (UTC +3). We also offer evening courses, which are indicated on the website for the respective course as "Evening Course." Evening courses typically start at 4 pm and conclude at 11 pm (UTC +3).
Exams are conducted on-site during the theoretical course. For longer type training programs, an exam schedule with ATA chapters will be shared with the trainees before the start of the practical course. Usually, one exam is planned per day. Prior to each exam, there will be an exam review session with the instructor to assist trainees in preparing for the exam.
Magnetic MRO is a certified EASA Part-147 organisation. For the full training scope, you can view the Magnetic MRO EASA Part 147 Certificate.
Magnetic Training will issue a visa invitation letter to trainees residing outside the Schengen area once the training agreement is signed and the course payment is received. The visa invitation letter will specify the dates of the scheduled training course.
